If things have been a little quiet on our blog lately, here’s why.
Short answer: ladders, coffee, unexpected repairs, and a shower that briefly decided to stop behaving itself.
Like many places, we use the quieter winter months to refresh and improve our rooms before the busy season in Llandudno. This year, however, one small issue turned into a much bigger project than expected.
When a Simple Repair Isn’t So Simple
It started with a shower problem — leaking into what is now Room 103.
Nothing dramatic at first.
But as with many property repairs, once we started investigating, we found a few other issues that needed attention, including some damp and improvements we’d already been planning.
At that point, a quick fix stopped making sense.
So we made the decision to do it properly and give the room the full refurbishment it deserved.
Room 101 Becomes Room 103
As the work progressed, it became clear this wasn’t going to be a light refresh.
So Room 101 has now been completely transformed into Room 103 — a fully refurbished guest room, redesigned and upgraded with guest comfort in mind.

Same location. Completely new feel.
Designed Around Guest Feedback
One of the most valuable parts of this project was being able to act on feedback from guests over the years.
We’ve added:
- A brand-new non-slip shower tray for added safety and comfort
- A comfort-height toilet for improved accessibility
- Two separate seating areas, perfect for relaxing, reading, or planning your day
Every change was made with real stays in mind—whether you’re here for a seaside break, a walking holiday, or a short escape in North Wales.
A Great Base for Exploring Llandudno
Our location remains one of the biggest highlights.
From the Llandudno promenade and the Great Orme, to nearby Conwy and its magnificent castle, there’s plenty to explore right on the doorstep.
Room 103 is designed as a comfortable base to return to after a day out exploring the coast and countryside.

Was It Worth It?
Yes — without question.
It wasn’t always straightforward. Some days felt like every job we finished revealed another one.
But seeing the finished room now, it was absolutely worth it.
Room 103 has gone from a winter disruption project to one of our favourite rooms.
Looking back, we’re almost grateful for the problems we faced.
Almost.
Given the choice, we’d still choose a dry ceiling every time.

No, we haven’t forgotten how to count.
There’s a story behind the change, and we’ll be sharing it in our next blog post later today.
